In this workshop, the speakers will reflect on landscape representations in the Anthropocene. What characterises Anthropocene landscapes, how are they perceived and interpreted and which kind of challenges arise from formulating an aesthetics of the Anthropocene?

„Landschaft" ist ein Konzept, das eng mit einem modernen Zugang zur Natur verbunden ist: eine Natur, die objektiviert, externalisiert und ästhetisch gerahmt wird. Die Frage ist, ob und wie sich dieser Begriff noch auf Natur im Anthropozän beziehen läßt, die fundamental vom Menschen verändert und ‚denaturiert' ist. Können wir Räume überhaupt noch als „Landschaften" rahmen? Was sind die Implikationen des Begriffs im Anthropozän? Was könnten prototypische Landschaftsformen sein, die den Eingriff des Menschen sinnfällig machen?
